I would definitely watch the lectures and complete the required readings. In addition, I would also go through the quizzes while studying for exams as a tool. Finally, you should definitely try to buy Smokin' Notes for this class!

Watch the lectures at 1.5x speed but also read the Smokin' Notes close to the exam. When studying the different classes of viruses in the Baltimore scheme, make tables for each class and provide examples in each class.

You need smokin notes and you need to know small details. It is a lot of content for exams, and you have to stay on top of lectures each week

I would say to watch the lectures and read through the Smokin notes. Then I would go through the quizzes and understand why I got something wrong. I would also fill out her study guide since it is very comprehensive of all the lecture material.

Read through the Smokin' Notes each week and fill out the study guide as you go through the information. Use the flashcards and module quizzes to test your knowledge. Review the notes and quizzes before the exam and do the practice exams.

I'd personally definitely recommend smokin' notes. I have been able to get 90%< on all the exam from reviewing smokin' notes alone

Take advantage of the essays/write ups, they boost your grade a lot. Do all extra credit. Read the smokin notes and take all practice exams, and review old quiz questions to prep for exams. Do well on first 3 exams to avoid the final.
